Privacy

Second Nature is run by Kyson Dana. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and you can leave at any time.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you sign up for The First Quest, the audio note, a waitlist or the newsletter. We also note which page you signed up on and how you first found the site (for example, a YouTube film or an Instagram post), so we know what’s useful.
• How the site is used, through Google Analytics: pages visited, buttons clicked, films played, and roughly where visitors are. It tells us what’s working.
• Visits for advertising audiences, through the Meta Pixel: which pages you viewed and whether you signed up, so we can show Second Nature to people who already know it on Instagram and Facebook. You can turn this off (see Your choices).
• Your name, email and payment details, when you enroll in a workshop. Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
• Your mailing address, if a workshop includes something we send you, like the printed sketchbook.
• What you choose to share in a workshop or the community. That stays with the group (see the Terms).
• Basic technical information, such as your browser and a general location, which our hosting provider logs to keep the site running and secure.

How we use it

To send you what you asked for, run the workshops you join, ship anything included, answer your messages, and understand which parts of the site are helpful. We don’t sell, rent or trade your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who helps us

We use a few trusted services, and each handles your information under its own privacy policy:

• Kit, for email and payments
• Cloudflare, to host the website
• Google Analytics, to count visits and see how the site is used
• Meta (Instagram and Facebook), to build advertising audiences from site visits
• YouTube, for the films embedded here. Playing a film may let YouTube set cookies.
• Zoom, for live classes, and Circle, for the community

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a few cookies to count visits, and the Meta Pixel sets cookies so Meta can recognize visitors for advertising. You can turn off the Meta Pixel on our privacy choices page. For Google Analytics, you can block its cookies with your browser settings or Google’s opt-out add-on. The site also remembers how you first arrived in your own browser, so a sign-up can say where it came from. Embedded YouTube films and the services above may set their own cookies when you use them.

Your choices

• Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
• We don’t sell your information. Sharing site visits with Meta for advertising can count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out on the Do not sell or share my info page, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out too.
• You can ask to see, correct, export or delete what we hold about you by writing to kyson@secondnatureclub.com. We’ll reply within 30 days.
• If you live in California, the EU or the UK, you have these rights under your local privacy laws, and we honor them for everyone.

Keeping it safe

We keep information only as long as we need it, and we use reputable services that protect it. No system is perfectly secure, so we’ll tell you promptly if something ever goes wrong that affects you.

Children

Second Nature’s workshops and community are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
